Lead a team of 9 supervisors, 2 production managers, 5 office staff, and 40 production workers in two plants producing marble for the construction industry. Currently opening a new production facility. Developed a method to determine the proper time for product re-order, saving between $10,000 and $40,000 annually over previous product expense. Found a buyer for scrap material, generating $300 annually, and reducing scrap tonnage by 13,000 pounds annually, for a projected savings of $44,000. Applying for training and equipment dollars from the Southeastern Kentucky Development Division that will generate over $780,000 in tax relief and grants over next ten years.

Led a team of 3 sales staff, 4 supervisors, 35 local drivers, 40 long haul drivers and 7 shop crew members in a nationwide less-than-truckload shipping company. Hired all employees, managed costs, ensured OSHA and EPA compliance. Established a “can do” culture that drove company growth from $5 million to $14 million in less than three years. Recognized as top terminal in the company, based on outstanding growth and increasing operating efficiency to greater than 95% in all categories. New managers and operations managers being placed in the field were sent to our facility for training. Developed excellent relationships with OSHA and EPA inspectors, and worked with them to bring facility into compliance within six months of start.

Promoted 5 times in 5 years at this $4.7 billion, publicly traded provider of logistics and supply chain services. Audited compliance with internal standards, as well as with OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Led a corporate team of 18 managers, 13 supervisors, 300 hourly workers, 8 office staff, 4 sales staff, and 15 member shop crew. Drove quality improvement for 18 facilities. Improved facility Operating Ratio by 10%, reduced overtime expenditures from 17% to 5% daily, saving $130,000 annually. Restored audit compliance to more than 93% for each of 18 facilities. Restored on-time service percentage to greater than 98%. Opened a new facility in Louisville and developed a freight forecasting system that earned our facility a company award within 7 days of opening. Was sent to Chicago, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Cincinnati to implement the procedure in those locations.
