Linda served on the Board of Directors of Seybert Foundation, where I served as Manager, for many years. Seybert supports nonprofit organizations serving children and youth in Philadelphia, and Linda added a perceptive eye to the grant review process, always thoughtful in her assessment of community needs and thorough in her preparation for group discussions. Linda brought her authentic voice to the work, sharing her lived experience and her extensive professional knowledge of the civic and nonprofit sectors. Linda's excellent communication skills aided not only in the grants-decision process, but also to the technical assistance realm, as she represented Seybert in a panel on How to Write an Effective Grant Application for a sold-out workshop. Linda is a creative thinker who is solution-oriented and devoted to excellence. She would be an asset to any team, as she was a tremendous asset to Seybert.

I have known Linda for years through Philadelphia’s tight-knit philanthropic community. Starting in 2018, I also had the pleasure of working with Linda when she joined the board of the foundation I staff in her capacity as a representative of the Office of Homeless Services. Linda brought to the board a deep understanding of philanthropy and effective nonprofit governance. She helped strengthen our communications and marketing capacity, and through her service on the Grant Planning Committee, contributed to a rethinking of our guidelines and approach. Linda is thoughtful and highly collaborative, with a passion for her work and a deep commitment to social change particularly as it relates to preventing and ending homelessness in Philadelphia.

I bring the stories of GFS to life by sharing magical moments in learning as I write articles about outstanding students and dedicated teachers, and tell about the global impact made by distinguished alumni.
