There is no more critical field than data science, and Marc and his team do an exemplary job of unlocking business value and insights to drive risk decisions of every type (accept, transfer, avoid, mitigate, increase) to separate Athene from its' competitors. In my view, we've gone far past the aging "data is the new oil" model, to data is more like the lifeblood of a company, and in insurance and financial services, if you don't have a solid handle on your data, you are going to lose to someone who does have a handle on theirs. In addition to the critical business value Marc and team deliver, Marc has always been a consummate team player, cool under pressure, and a great colleague and friend in 2 different organizations. He protects and develops his team members, and is someone I'm proud to call a friend whether we're working in the same firm or not. I greatly enjoyed my time working with Marc, and hopefully our professional paths will cross again.

Mark worked for me at AIG as a vice president leading data strategy and its execution for the life and retirement businesses. Marc is an exceptionally bright, insightful, and focused person. He jumps into everything with both feet and quickly discerns what is important from what is not. Marc very effectively formulates strategies and plans to accomplish stated goals and goes above and beyond to deliver more than is asked. His leadership and people-management skills are exceptional. Marc sets high standards for performance and coaches people effectively to achieve them. His integrity is second to none and he is a great pleasure to work with.
