When Christy and I joined Accelerent a few years ago, the greatest benefit is that we met some truly outstanding people. Kevin is one of those. He knows his stuff and is both interesting and funny. Every time I have a conversation with Kevin I feel I learn something new. He has a great perspective on business and insight in how to add value to an organization. I find Kevin not only to be professional, but also someone who cares and who will think outside the box. in order to find solutions.

Kevin Koster is an easy recommendation for several reasons. The first, Kevin always gives 110%. I know, everyone says they go beyond what is expected, but Kevin actually delivers. He has developed personal relationships with most of his clients and truly works as though he has a stake in their success. He is relentless in his pursuit of solving challenges and understands and embraces stewardship. Second, Kevin thinks about problems non-traditionally. He avoids the rubber stamp approach and truly listens/looks for opportunities to provide new and unique approaches to solving his clients challenges. Lastly, Kevin has a highly functioning moral compass. He has a wonderful habit of treating people with respect and it shows in everything he does. I consider him to be more than a peer or industry contact, more than a resource or network connection, I am honored to call him my friend.

Kevin Koster at Sandweiss Koster was an ongoing partner to Guier Fence Company. His approach to marketing is a vast departure from what one typically encounters. Any and all proposed projects werefirst and foremost measured by the results they would produce. Kevin transcended from a service provider to a true business partner that was as committed to Guier's best interest as I was. Beyond his value based approach, the quality of his firm's work is no less than spectacular. Do it the SK Way and your business will grow. Period.

I took a 50% pay cut to join David Sandweiss at Sandweiss Advertising in 1987 because I believed in his unique approach to marketing and generating results for clients and wanted to be a part of it. We lost Dave in 2005 but his passion for excellence and client results is forever part of our DNA. In fact, our evolution has created a firm and process so different, we changed our banner from Sandweiss Koster, Inc. to Skopós. (Or Skopos if you don't know how to make the ó) Dave was one of several victims of a tragic auto accident in 2005. Two were business owners. Dave's company survived. The other was closed in only a few months. Dave had built a company that could survive without him. The other owner had not. One company grew and created jobs. The other's jobs were all lost. We've always been the complete opposite of a traditional ad agency. We retain our clients for decades because they keep growing. Now we've moved beyond simply the "un-agency" to a complete suite of business growth, value building and exit planning services. We don't simply make companies appear better on the outside, we help re-design and build companies from the inside out to create sustainable short and long-term profitable growth. Doing this not only improves today's bottom-line, it creates companies that can be sold anytime for maximum value or survive the death of the owner and take care of the family and employees. I love being the only ones who do what we do. Even more, I love helping other business owners become the only ones who do what they do and then protecting their investment for them, their employees and families. If you want to build a profitable and survivable business that makes a difference, let's talk. Show less

I was recruited back from California to help start the Tuesday Business tabloid - then called Business Special to compete with the newly created Kansas City Business Journal. I built my account list from zero to just under $1,000,000 in less than 3 years by providing clients service and direction that exceeded expectations. This led to several clients asking me to assist them on the side with their other marketing efforts but I felt it inappropriate to do so while on the Star's payroll. I then received a call from David Sandweiss and the rest is history. Show less

My first great post-college adventure... Based on my experience starting a newspaper with my roommate in college, I was recruited to be part of an ad sales team of 4 to start new weekly newspapers in Irvine, Mission Viejo and Huntington Beach, CA. At the time, Orange County was said to be the most competitive newspaper market in the country. I was promoted to Assistant Sales Manager of their daily paper in Costa Mesa in 1982 and became Sales Manager in 1983. I then left in 1983 for the opportunity at the Kansas City Star. Show less
