Led a regional development team responsible for the design, development and operation of Taoofshop, Asia’s first omni-channel retail marketing solution, which drives retail transformation in mall, retail and F&B. Collaborated with technology partners to explore and roll out new retail innovations. When I joined Pepperconn as CTO, I was challenged by CEO to deliver a platform that is capable of large scale deployment, highly customisable and secured. I set the target for my team and succeeded in delivering that platform, through well-designed architecture, leveraging heavily on cloud technologies and automation, agile software development methodology and adopting good project management practices. The platform is packaged into a product, called Taoofshop, which operates as a Software-as-a-Service (Saas) that supports over millions of transactions across our clients. The company is also in talks for regional deployment. I also spearheaded the mobile development arm, which supports customised native mobile application development. Achievements: 1. Founded in 2010, LiveRun is a pioneer in mobile application development in the sporting industry. Coupled with event management consultancy, the company established a clientele that consists of international and local brands like Nike, Kappa, lifecycle, UOL Velocity mall and many others. Being a co-founder, I was responsible for business strategy, product vision, system development and implementation. Being a lean startup, it was a uphill challenge servicing big clients at the early stage. However, we overcame it through the adoption of cloud technologies, modular system architecture, defining processes and system automation. Achievements: 1. Launched world first run for rewards mobile application with more than 25k signups 2. Designed and developed turn-key platform, leveraging on cloud technologies, that is capable of supporting multiple clients in the most time and cost-effective manner. 3. Launched and supported Singapore first virtual marathon in conjunction with UOL Velocity mall 4. Developed and managed a rewards system for Nike Run Club Singapore using contactless cards. Show less

Software Engineer

I was responsible for the development and operation of battlefield training simulation systems that supports military experiments. Led and worked with a team of developers locally and abroad to perform system customisations and developments to meet the demands of each experiments, and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the success of each simulation runs. When I first joined the team, experiments are often time consuming and expensive. The fact that analysis can only be done at the end restricts the ability for commanders to make changes during the simulation run. Our team developed and deployed a live dashboard that feeds simultation data and voice data from respectively participants, presenting to key stakeholders all the data required for making realtime decision and commands. Successes includes reduction of simultion run, saving time, cost and resources and a more holistic and realistic simulation results. Besides my core work duties, I collaborated with Nanyang Polytechnics to develop personnel tracking system, which leverages on both location and imaging technologies, to monitor personnel movement in restricted areas. Achievements: 1. Enhanced the way experiments are conducted with real-time data feedback 2. Developed real-time reporting dashboard allowing real-time decision making, and increasing customer satisfatory 3. Achieved more realistic experimental results and reducing the number of experiment runs resulting in cost saving of about 20% 4.
