Jun 2014 - Nov 2015
As part of this role I was solely responsible for the maintenance and development of our Higher Education Learn Chemistry site (http://www.rsc.org/learn-chemistry/collections/higher-education), which provides free resources for those working and studying in Higher Education. This included:• Developing new resources based on the RSC’s publishing activities, such as annotated articles and journal of the month. This included working with a large number of external and internal stakeholders.• Devising with other teams a key concepts list and using this to identify topic gaps in our resources, and producing new resources fill this need. Maths for chemists has been a particular area of focus.• Capture any additional useful resources from partners for inclusion on the site.• Developing a number of 'how to' guide resources, with an emphasis on publishing issues that students face. This has included both commissioning and producing the guides myself. • Developing and promoting the HE student online network group to increase group membership and user engagement.• Mange and organise several projects that we have funded to produce new C/PBL resources for HE educators.• Managing, planing and organising the re-development and restructure of the site. This will include conducting user testing and focus groups before moving on to devising a new structure and then testing this this, possibly using card sorting techniques.• Organising several events and presenting aspects of my work at these events to varied audiences.
