Bill mentored me at Intel, and I worked with him on Virtual Interface Architecture, NGIO, Infiniband, and later for him at Sanera Systems. Bill is an excellent communicator and manager. His vision, honesty, political savvy, patience and cooperative attitude in the face of conflict to achieve consensus and get things done really set him apart from the field. Additionally, his skills as a manageability architect were much appreciated, and he encouraged me to grow my skillset in this area.
