As a reading specialists for a K-6th grade campus, my primary role is to support students in developing strong reading skills that will serve as the foundation for their future academic success. Some of my key responsibilities in this role include:Conducting assessments to identify areas of strength and weakness in students' reading skillsDeveloping personalized learning plans for each student to address their individual needs and learning styleProviding one-on-one or small group instruction to students to help them build their reading skillsMonitoring students' progress and adjusting instruction as needed to ensure maximum growth and successCollaborating with teachers and other school staff to support a cohesive approach to student learning and developmentKeeping detailed records of student progress and communicating regularly with parents or guardians to ensure they are up to date on their child's progress.Overall, my goal as a reading coach is to help every student reach their full potential as confident, capable readers, setting them up for success in all areas of their academic and personal lives. As an experienced ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading) teacher, I have had the privilege of playing a critical role in helping my students develop the literacy skills they need to succeed both academically and in their personal lives.During my time as an ELAR teacher, I developed and implemented lesson plans that aligned with state and district standards while also incorporating a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of my students. I created a positive and engaging classroom environment that promoted student learning and success and provided regular feedback to my students on their progress while working with them to set and achieve academic goals.Collaborating with other teachers and staff to develop and implement a cohesive ELAR curriculum, I stayed up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in ELAR education and incorporated this knowledge into classroom instruction.
