I began my partnership with Special Olympics back in 2017. When I first started helping out, I was a unified partner. This meant I was essentially an 'on-field coach' in a sense. I would be playing sports with others and was used as a guide. This past year, I was offered to become a coach for a traditional SPED team and am now one of three on the staff for this specific team. Assistant Women Soccer Coach
-
Nov 2017 - Feb 2020
I became the assistant soccer coach right out of high school. I was in charge of setting drills up as well as explaining how these drills were to run. As time went on, I gained more and more responsibility. I was in charge of ensuring the girl's kept up with their school work as well as were eligible to play each game. Set pieces and certain substitutions were also supervised by me. Although, due to COVID, I have not been able to coach this last year. I became the assistant soccer coach right out of high school.
