They say a good teacher is someone you will remember all your life. On that reckoning, I would also consider managers in the same bracket. A good manager is one that gets to know their staffs strengths and weaknesses. They know when to put an arm around them, and when to give them a kick up the backside, but most importantly, They remember that above all, They are people. Mark is one such manager. Marks can do attitude to work has placed him up there with (maybe 2 or 3 people) managers that have had a positive impact on the way I work.
