If there’s one word I could use to sum up Nicole it would be
Rob Henderson (he/him)
I have known Nicole in personal and professional capacities for the past 20 years. Nicole has been able to accomplish something rather rare: replicate the stellar reputation she has earned as a generous actor, collaborator and director into her own professional and volunteer endeavours administratively in theatre. As a past President of the Orpheus Musical Theatre Society, I witnessed and worked with Nicole on several initiatives she spear-headed as part of the NAC, later on at GCTC and while she was a Board member of the Orpheus Musical Theatre Society. It is similarly rare that a gifted performer can replicate such talent in such differing capacities, but again, Nicole has been able to accomplish that. I believe that gift comes from a magnetic combination of enthusiasm, love for the craft and a deep-rooted concern for the well-being of the colleagues and collaborators with whom she works. The result is that she constantly has an entourage of some of the best and the brightest who line up for the chance to work with her in whatever capacity, and as anyone can attest, that is the essence of a leader. Her concise communications style compliments her affable nature, allowing her to focus on objectives and avoid distractions deftly. I recommend Nicole unreservedly having observed her in both on and offstage roles. I have rarely come across someone with such emotional intelligence who can maintain such a positive focus on success.

Director of Marketing & Development
-
Jan 2016 - Jun 2019
As Director of Marketing and Development, I represented GCTC’s mission, vision and values as they relate to organizational fundraising and promotion. My key responsibilities were to increase revenue generation through subscriptions, ticket sales and donations, and develop mutually beneficial community partnerships through sponsorship and a strong stewardship plan. Given my background, I also helped direct communications and public relations strategy, and oversaw all departments responsible for our front-line customer service: Box Office, Patron Services, Volunteers, Front of House and Education.Achievements in marketing included revitalizing GCTC's visual brand as guided by its new strategic plan; a greater investment in digital marketing and social media; the project management and implementation of a new accessible website, introduction of a successful patron appreciation program and the management of the Chefs & Shows events, where Executive Chefs throughout the community produced pop-up restaurants in our lobby with menus that were inspired by the shows on our stage. Achievements in fundraising included the introduction of new major donor Director's Circle program that more than doubled its members in the first season; development of a personalized stewardship program for donors; creating a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization through fundraising training and inclusion practices; a significant increase of in-kind sponsorships to help offset production costs and artist fees; and surpassing sponsorship and ticket revenue goals by working with the volunteer community for the Annual Lawyer Play galas.
