      My post spanned the Business and Conflict programme and the Development and Peacebuilding ProgrammeResearch - I undertook in depth research on extractive sector risk assessment processes. I led research in Sri Lanka of conflict sensitive practice of government, non-state actors, donors and NGOs, and convened two large workshops to discuss the emergent guidance material. I also substantially engaged in the research in Uganda on the same.Innovation in conflict sensitivity – I was lead designer and author of a ground breaking methodology for oil, gas and mining companies to be conflict sensitive: Conflict Sensitive Business Practice. I co-edited and wrote additional contributions to the Resource Pack on Conflict Sensitivity. Piloting / field testing – I led an assessment of a major mining operation in Indonesia from a conflict sensitivity perspective. I worked with local partners to convene a stakeholder workshop in Colombia, involving indigenous peoples and trades unions, to draw their feedback on the emergent business practice guidance.Training – I co-authored training modules and a training of trainers programme on conflict sensitivity, and delivered the training of trainers programme.Building partnerships – In conjunction with Sri Lankan counterparts I built relationships with key actors in Sri Lanka for conflict sensitivity, including Government, donors, NGOs. For the work with private sector I convened a steering group including major oil, gas and mining companies and assessment specialists to provide expert input into the emergent guidance and generate buy-in. Advocacy - I presented the business practice guidance at the UN Global Compact to reach out to interested companies. I analysed European Commission and British Government policy frameworks, programmes and projects relating to business and conflict for an advocacy publication, and attended EC events to advocate on the same.Finding funds – I drafted successful funding applications
