Nick is someone whose operational expertise is something any organization would be lucky to have. Having worked directly for Nick, he is someone who can see around corners, lead teams through complex activities, and provide enough freedom for individuals to do their best work. His management style of "trust but validate" allowed me to explore not only career expanding opportunities, but opportunities that great value adds to the business. He is a consummate professional and a strategic leader who will have a profound impact in any organization he is in.

Nick is one of the best leaders I’ve ever worked for. He always provided my team with extremely clear guidelines and goals, which ensured our team always had a clear path. Nick is not a micromanager in any way, shape, or form, yet he was always aware of and understood what the operations team was doing on the front lines. When he posed a problem for us to solve, he took the time to hear our ideas and suggestions, made sure he fully understood them before providing feedback, and often trusted the team’s recommendations. I’ll miss Nick’s infamous

Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF is one of the U.S. Navy’s four public shipyards executing depot-level submarine repair and overhauls. Over the course of three years on site in Hawaii, I embedded with five project teams executing 6 - 24-month major overhaul projects on Los Angeles-class, fast attack submarines at PHNSY&IMF. This role involved a variety of duties from identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives to traditional project management activities (e.g. schedule analysis, cost analysis, process design, execution planning, etc.). There was rarely a boring day as my work typically involved large, cross-functional teams and required interfacing with shipyard executive management, middle managers, front-line leaders and mechanics.
