What is now "Lover's Candle Co." began as "Project Lover's Candle Co." in June of 2020 when protests for racial justice swept across the country. I decided to turn my then quarantine hobby into a social impact project, and have recently relaunched as "Lover's Candle Co." with all profits still being donated to organizations that spread the love and advocate against hate groups in the U.S. What is now "Lover's Candle Co." began as "Project Lover's Candle Co." in June of 2020 when protests for racial justice swept across the country. I began West Virginia Geocachers as a way to highlight the natural beauty of the state of West Virginia. Since its inception, I have created and "launched" 12 geocaches near my hometown of Berkeley Springs, WV. These caches have been found by many geocachers over the years, and continue to serve as an open invitation for others to come and experience the natural beauty that exists right here in Morgan County! • May 2021 - May 2023

I joined GUSA's Department of Financial Accessibility after leaving my role in the Senate. In this position, I continue to lead and collaborate on initiatives meant to support the low-income student population on Georgetown's campus. Most recently, I have worked on an initiative to establish free laundry in campus dormitory facilities (or to have it calculated into room and board charges so that it may be covered by financial aid). Although the work can be tiresome at times, it is always rewarding to work with a group of passionate individuals to brainstorm creative solutions to the access barriers that low-income students face on Georgetown's campus. • Senator
      • Feb 2022 - May 2022

I served as a Senator representing the class of 2023 during the spring session. In this role, I leveraged different levers of change made available to the student government to lead initiatives that would improve campus life for low-income, first-generation students. These initiatives often began as petitions, and through meetings with key stakeholders in the University's administration, we were able to develop and implement new policies to turn our proposed ideas into a university-adopted program. Before leaving this role to serve in GUSA's Department of Financial Accessibility, I lead the initiative on the Senate side for the University to establish a permanent stability housing program so that vulnerable student populations could access University support for housing during University breaks. This initiative, and the hard work of many others on the Summer Housing Committee, has resulted in the permanent implementation of a University-sponsored bridge housing program. Georgetown now offers a limited amount of bridge housing to undergraduate students experiencing challenging circumstances during winter break and over the summer, so that these students may maintain access to campus resources.
