Karla Goodbody is a strategic and fervently dedicated project manager. She is a composed, thoughtful, and integrity-driven leader and team player; thus she creates exceptional rapport with her staff, clients, and community partners alike. I worked with Karla for 4 years as she designed, developed, and oversaw complex programs that assisted working poor populations in the Bay Area. I was continually impressed as I watched her resourcefully tackle intensive projects meant for the work of multiple professionals. Her background in public policy brought ]critical insights to our organization. Personally, I could count on Karla to shed light on ideas or alternative approaches I had not considered in my own work-related projects. Karla's ability to think across systems combined with her training in public policy make her an asset to organizations seeking a builder or thought partner. Her approach is forward-thinking rooted in an organization's existing strengths. She is a strong leader and conscientious team player. It is without hesitation I recommend Karla to any organization seeking someone who leads with integrity and committed to mission

Karla Goodbody has earned a reputation as a diligent and strategic community leader. I worked with Karla on numerous program and organizational development projects and proposals over the course of 4 years, that included services designed to assist working poor families, development of a primary care clinic, and the creation of a mental health workforce pipeline. Karla proved to be quick study, eager to leverage her strengths in public policy, research, and years of assisting community, education, business and public safety leaders throughout the state. Through a shared governance structure, the Academic Senate helps shape the University's teaching, research and patient care missions. The Senate represents the faculty and carries out its work through policy committees. UCSF employs nearly 22,000 people; 2nd only to the City and County of San Francisco. My work day passes very quickly as I am fortunate to be doing something I enjoy immensely with an employer that recognizes my contributions. I've contributed to the following Senate Committees: *Library and Scholarly Communication *Clinical Affairs *Equal Opportunity *School of Pharmacy *Task Force on Clinical Affiliate Agreements and Quality of Care *Joint Senate-Adminstrative Committee on Campus Affiliation Policy Senate Analysts draft policies, regulations, surveys, and conduct elections through analysis & strategic planning. Our guidance and recommendations are through a health sciences lens; advancing policies that strengthen the faculty and trainee experience, and translation of our investigators' research to improving patient outcomes.

My accomplishments as program director include: Spearheaded the agency's successful Community Clinic licensure by the State of CA. This was the first step in scaling the agency's free, volunteer-driven, acute care clinic for uninsured, to become a Federally Qualified Health Center. (FQHC) Expanded mental health and primary care program through partnership with graduate programs, delivering free and low cost services to K-12 campuses and community sites. I set the preliminary framework for the agency's successful application to become designated as a n FQHC. This included drafting clinical staffing models, behavioral health & primary care integration, revenue projection models and compliance-related processes and documents for provider credentialing and Board governance. Project support to 12 month, $500,000 career pipeline project funded through Workforce Investment Act. Budget development, oversight, contract scope, compliance and negotiation. Review and approval of invoices and project deliverables. Accountable for budget just under $1 million.
