• PhD researcher Mathematics

  As a PhD candidate in the research group Algebraic Topology and Group Theory at KU Leuven Campus Kulak Kortrijk, I performed fundamental research on Lie algebras. My project was on almost inner derivations. I had research stays in Vienna (namely the Erwin Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics and the University of Vienna). This resulted in three articles about my project which are submitted to peer reviewed international journals, two of which are published and the other one is accepted for publication.

  In addition to my research, I was active as a teaching assistant for several courses of the Bachelor of Science (physics, informatics and mathematics) and Engineering Science. Over the years, I taught exercise sessions on the following courses: ‘Algebra I’ (B-KUL-X0A65C, 3 years), 'Algebraic structures' (B-KUL-X0B76B, 4 years), ‘Algebraic structures and applications’ (B-KUL-X0D62A, 3 years), ‘Mathematical analysis I' (B-KUL-X0A31B, 1 year), ‘Mathematical reasoning' (B-KUL-X0B74A, 2 years), ‘Topology’ (B-KUL-X0D95A, 4 years). Further, I also guided a bachelor’s thesis in Mathematics (1 project)
