Bio
Daniel Watkins
In the production world it’s so easy to be reactionary, and to default to negativity when unexpected challenges present themselves. It often seems like it’s how people bond with one another - through some sort of shared disapproval, or unforeseen disappointment. I’ve never seen Jocelyn do this. After working with her for a while I finally concluded that this is because she is always working several steps ahead of everyone, and accounting for every conceivable outcome. The unexpected was never unexpected to her. I still have a hard time not regarding this as some sort of superpower. This description sets up an implied binary. One that suggests that an individual who possesses the above skillset must, on a personal level, be some sort of cyborg-like automaton. Well, I am happy to assuage you of that assumption, because Jocelyn is also one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to work for. She is generous with her time, and forthcoming with solutions - solutions that consider the issue holistically rather than contextually. She truly makes you happy to come to work, and I feel in my heart of hearts that any operation would be better if she were a part of it.

I had the pleasure of working with Jocelyn for over 2 years at BuzzFeed. During this time, Jocelyn was the Sr. Manager of Studio Operations and we worked together as I served as the HR support for the Studio Ops team. During our time together Jocelyn grew the 3-person dept to a team of 17 across 7 sub-dept in LA and NY-no easy feat while managing the day-to-day production operations. During this time she already collaborated directly with producers, production, finance, and analysts on forecasting/planning for content, staffing, and facility design working cross-functionally to meet the goals of the creative team while simultaneously managing finite spaces and resources. Jocelyn is extremely skilled in business operations and managing scaled and efficient output across multiple locations even in the most unique circumstances. Jocelyn is an extremely capable production leader and has skills that would positively serve any production studio or lot!
