From September of 2006 until May of 2008 I worked for LISD in various educational positions ranging from long-term substitute teacher to an assistant special education teacher. In Septemeber of 2006 I worked as a temporary assistant special education teacher at Cypress Elementary in LISD. I worked specifically with one second grade student guiding her in attending her second grade classroom, working with other students, taking her to lunch with her classmates, creating and guiding her in one on one lessons that fostered her growth in second grade. In January of 2007 I began a long term substitute position as the lead teacher in an ELE classroom. In August of 2007 I continued subbing in many of the elementary and middle schools in LISD. During college I began working for Fair Oak Country Club, a sister property of Barton Creek Country Club. From 1990 until 1997 I was a front of the house waiter for a fine dining restaurant at Fair Oaks Country Club and for Barton Creek Country Club. In 1997 I was promoted to the Youth Programs Director position at Barton Creek Resort and Spa. I managed all youth programs for resort guests and members. I created and started many of the programs that are now successful including Winter Camp, Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp, education outreach programs, nature activities and so much more. I directed the Kids Club child care facility and made sure all aspects of operation were in compliance with the state requirements. I interviewed, hired, and trained staff for all youth programs and the Kids Club child care facility. I wrote performance reviews for staff. I successfully wrote a new job description for the Kids Club staff. As a result, the Kids Club staff all received a pay increase from HR. I designed the new Kids Club floor plan when it went through renovations. Completed budget forecasting for the recreation department. Purchased supplies and materials for all youth programs.
