Lead and stood up in 8 weeks two temporary service delivery options, a national over the phone service and regional pop ups from Kaitaia to Invercargill. This service provides free career advice and guidance to any New Zealanders (or manuhiri still in Aotearoa) who have been negatively impacted in their work due to COVID-19. From 19th October 2020 – 28th June 2021 the Direct Career Services has supported a total of 9,425 people providing free career information, advice and personalised career guidance. The majority of clients are using face-to-face services. This is particularly so for Māori, 39% of whom are accessing the service face-to-face as opposed to 6% via the phone. Feedback from career practitioners shows that affordability of the service is enabling access for approximately 90% of their clients. “You’ve brought gusto, smarts and a huge dollop of ‘can do’ to bring DCS from a great idea into a real, practical service. It has helped thousands of people over the last year, and will help even more over the coming year. Thank you for helping us make a real difference to people’s lives, and all the best for your next adventure!” Quote from TEC DCE Project Sponsor Show less
