  I led a team that made historic and real-time GPS data into automotive navigation products and services. We had two primary data sources, mobile users using Mapbox's mobile SDK that produced location telemetry data as they moved around the world, and existing automotive companies that had sensors in their fleets of consumer vehicles and commercial trucks.I worked on-site at Tesla's headquarters in Palo Alto when the company partnered with them in exploratory mapping opportunities in 2015. My responsibility was building the initial navigation traffic pipelines for road segments and visual experience (standard colored traffic map), and then building a team around it to continuing broadening the feature set, get this data into a variety of our products, and then eventually the launch of Mapbox Navigation, mapbox.com/navigation.
