Churn rate, the percentage of customer loss over time, is a critical metric for banks. Here we used machine learning approach to analysis how factors influence customer bank retention, and what customer group is more likely to leave the bank. Performed exploratory data analysis (EDA) on 10k bank churn dataset, engineered categorical features and used SMOTE method to oversample the unbalanced dataset. Evaluated logistic regression, random forest and XGBoost model by accuracy, precision and F1 score, tuned the model using random search method. Used unsupervised learning to identify clusters of customers that require more retention strategies. Show less
