Taught over 65 students Pre-AP Spanish at the upperclassmen campus -The class was primarily immersive, 90% Spanish and 10% English. -The Spanish course was set to a high standard and taught with an academic rigor where Exit Tickets, Quizzes and Exams were used to measure student comprehension and gaps of learning. -Aggressive Monitoring techniques were learnt in order to assure there is 100% student engagement, 100% of students on task, and 100% of student comprehension. -Worked alongside my Curriculum Partner to have the students taking Pre-AP Spanish run the after-school tutoring, appointed numerous students as tutors, allowing for the teachers to work with students that needed more one-on-one attention -Frequently covered AP-Spanish during the school year and familiar with the curriculum. -Weekly Professional Development was attended. -Instructional routines and shifts of the Pre-AP classroom -Engaging students in higher-order thinking and analysis -Analyzing student work and differentiating instruction -Interdisciplinary instructional strategies and routines Academic Advisor -Aside from the 65 students I taught on a daily basis, 14 students were also appointed to me as advisees. This involved building rapport with them, forging a bond with their parents/guardians to set their child up for success. -Weekly meetings were set with these students in order to speak about their grades, problems in the classroom, and making a success plan so that they could be the best scholar they could be. -Phone calls were made home on a weekly basis, along with a screenshot of the students live grades. -CCed in any and all emails students would send to their teachers in order to help the student advocate for themselves.
