These outcomes correlate with a better understanding of student achievement, improved classroom interventions, and increased performance on the California Dashboard. * Member of Pacific Charter Institute’s senior leadership team.   • Coordinated Moffett Independent Study High School Program, MVLA Home/hospital Program and CalSAFE School Age Parents Program. Collectively, these programs serve 475 students annually. Led a staff of ten teachers, a visiting mental health professional and a senior staff secretary. • Developed and implemented staff development based on California Content Standards. • Managed an annual department budget including general, categorical and block grant funds. Created new funding opportunities to augment existing programs. This included the award of a CalSAFE (California School Age Families Education) grant to assists teen parents in the development of self-esteem and confidence while they work toward securing a high school diploma. • Active leader in the district alternative education community. Strong relationships with administrators and counselors including participation in the district leadership team and the student gang task force, a joint effort between district administrators and the Mountain View Police Department. • Developed and implemented programs that serve under represented students, including an award-winning teen parents program whose graduation rate is ninety percent.

  • Developed and implemented standards aligned curriculum for an “at risk” student population which led to the successful graduation of thirty students annually. • Developed and implemented daily/unit lesson plans, and administered tests and evaluations as part of a department team, resulting in an increase of STAR test scores. • Fostered a classroom environment conducive to learning through the Classroom Organization and Management Program protocols developed by the Department of Teaching and Learning at Vanderbilt. The principal described the results as “an environment where students are on task and expectations are clearly stated.” • Assisted in writing a school charter for the California Department of Education. This led to a successful relationship with the Marin Conservation Corps and the John Muir Charter School.
