Funded by the Department of Political Science under the mentorship of Dr. Laura Blume, I helped build a comprehensive dataset on instances of violence against political figures in Central America. This project seeks to compile existing yet inconsistent records of these cases in order to provide a fuller picture of political violence in these regions.

McNair Scholars Researcher

Funded by the McNair Scholars Program and Nevada Undergraduate Research Award (NURA), my research concerns access to higher education for undocumented students in the state of Nevada. This project seeks to uncover the barriers and resources to undocumented student success through interviews with institutional employees regarding the policies, practices, and culture that inform these factors. Findings suggest that institutional and peer support function as important mechanisms of undocumented student success. This project has been presented at the Annual Pacific Sociological Conference and has been submitted for publication as an original manuscript. Show less

I served as an elected student senator for the University of Nevada, Reno’s 19,000+ undergraduate student population. During my time as a senator I was also appointed as Chair for the Committee on Academics (2019-2020) and Parliamentarian (2020-2021). Within these roles I wrote legislation on behalf of the student body, advocated for student voices and civic engagement through outreach and campus events, conducted weekly meetings and supported committee members with their projects, trained officers on meeting procedure, and advised the senate body, among others.
