Founder and Company Director of a multi sport holiday camp provider Lechlade-On-Thames, which is located in the heart of the Cotswolds. This transformative process has enabled me to gain a holistic perspective of the operation of a small business, from identifying a gap in the market, to establishing a USP and creating a website. - Managing a small team in a business climate as well as increased client engagement has enabled me to develop my proficiency communicating through a plethora of mediums to a range of stakeholders. - I have been able to create and manage a website, continually updating the platform to engage and retain clients as the business expands. - As the company ages, I am enhancing my ability to form positive and meaningful connections with clients, building lasting relationships that are integral to the integrity of my business. - Annually undertaking small business accounting, meaning I am familiar with the rigours of the taxation system and staying up-to-date with documentation for Companies House. - The process has also enabled me to enhance my marketing strategies using omni-channel marketing to engage a range of customers. Success of both the marketing campaigns and delivery of the camp is evidenced by a 42.6% increase in average camp attendance on the Easter camp in 2022 compared to 2021 against a backdrop of reduced travel restrictions for overseas holidays. Further success was evidence by a greater than 50% increase in bookings per day on our 2022 summer camps, when compared with 2021. Over the next year, the company is looking to expand to venues in Abingdon, Sheffield and the Isle of Man. Show less

Working as one of Elvet Tutoring's original tutors. Using an integrated system of short term planning sprints with medium- to long-term goals, my aim is to enable students to excel and achieve beyond their expectations. Providing knowledge and guidance so that pupils feel well-placed to direct their own revision as well as instructing me on where our time together is best placed, thereby instilling meaningful accountability and independence of thought. This approach combined with the fostering of meaningful and positive relationships with pupils on a personal level (rather than as a detached instructor) makes them feel comfortable and provides the foundations for them to be more inquisitive and achieve highly. This process has co-benefits of helping pupils to excel, but also enhancing Elvet Tutoring's brand image as they look to establish and expand in their infancy through positive word of mouth. Jul 2021 - Oct 2021
Having completed a week's work experience in 2018 with Black Tomato, I returned as a paid summer intern for this world-leading luxury travel experience and excursion provider. Over the course of four months, I worked as a part of the Operations Team within the firm, helping to create visually stunning itineraries for clients. My role entailed using the company's bespoke travel software to install the relevant inputs, photography and excursions to create impressive trip planning documents as well as on-trip itineraries. - It was an incredibly insightful experience, especially given the dynamism of the sector in the post-pandemic transition period during the summer of 2021. This meant that itineraries were constantly changing and adapting to reflect travel restrictions which meant that I had to be incredibly meticulous in my work. - Information synthesis was also key having gathered details on hotels and excursions relevant to new outgoing trips. - My remit included installing new photos into the back end of the software to enable colleagues to meet tight deadlines on itineraries. - The culmination of the work was to input the key details and itineraries into the consumer-facing app which they would use on their luxury holidays. Accepted onto the McKinsey & Company Leadership Academy 2021. Over the course of the insight scheme I was introduced to several colleagues at McKinsey & Company and attended a plethora of workshops on a range of topics. - We learnt how to approach problems using a rigorous questioning framework, enabling an efficient decomposition of the problem, enabling us to more effectively solve it. - National Theatre Live gave a workshop on public speaking, detailing how to most effectively engage an audience using posture and gesture as well as projection of voice. - There were opportunities to meet like-minded peers and Business Analysts at McKinsey & Company. - Our problem-solving skills were put to the test on the final day with a hypothetical Olympic Games bid for a given city on a restricted budget. In doing so we were able to enhance our presentation skills and create an engaging slideshow to reinforce our bid. - The week finished with an incredibly engaging and inspirational guest speech from David Thomas OBE. A former employee of McKinsey & Company and the founder of the Oak Academy - an online learning platform for disadvantaged children during the pandemic. Show less
