CorpWatch is an NGO that aims to hold corporations accountable for violating environmental, social, and human rights. I began working at CorpWatch as an intern between February and June 2021 and was subsequently hired full-time as a Senior Researcher & Social Media Coordinator in April 2022, a role that I have kept ever since. As Social Media Coordinator, my role entails creating social media posts for Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, which includes creating an editorial calendar, social media strategies and managing our online community. My strategies have been largely successful, as our Instagram following has doubled in the span of just nine months, while our engagement and reach have been steadily increasing. Alongside that, I periodically write blog posts on corporate wrongdoing for CorpWatch's website. My research tasks include creating corporate profiles for CorpWatch's online database. Through my fluency in various languages, I have contributed extensively to our database by providing information from different countries, which can be used for critical research by journalists, academics, and policymakers. I have been managing two of our research projects – 1) on the privatization of healthcare in Europe and on 2) the greenwashing of energy multinationals – coordinating with our international partners. CEBRI is the key Brazilian think tank for international relations, recently rated the second most relevant think tank in South America by the Global Go To Think Tank Index 2020. At CEBRI, I was responsible for producing platform-specific content for Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, as well as managing CEBRI's social media community. I was also responsible for creating communications strategies for specific projects, such as CEBRI’s innovative course on the History of Brazilian Diplomacy, which counted with the participation of four former Brazilian presidents. I also managed and updated social media analytics and was responsible for updating and translating the content on CEBRI’s English website.I started as an intern in January and was promoted to Communications Officer within four months. This is because I was able to increase CEBRI’s following, reach and engagement in social media channels by as much as 200%. In the span of six months, we increased our following across social media channels from 40,000 to 50,000. We also launched a new website to commemorate CEBRI’s 23rd birthday on June 22nd, for which my work in translating the site’s content into English was essential. Show less
