In this role i was responsible for the development of materials to support the needs of tyres sold in the European marketplace. • Development of next generation silica tread compounds for winter, and highly competitive all-season applications, the materials I have developed have played a part in achieving magazine recognition. • Next generation tread cap formula for new summer passenger and SUV tyre lines. • Work with global production teams on the industrialisation of new formulations and technologies. • Assist with factory technical issues and the approval and validation of alternative raw materials sources. • Have sat on the ETRMA chemicals group committee for the last 5 years, where I represent Cooper Tires Europe and strive to keep up to date with latest legislative developments on chemicals. • Support the ETC materials laboratory in mixing / curing /analytical and physical testing areas. • Sustainability • Project Management Show less

In my role I supported the materials development and testing needs of the Avon Rubber plc Dairy and Protection business units. - Maintained compliance with rubber food contact and REACH legislation. - Industrialisation from prototype to production stages. - Worked on a wide range of projects with customers outside of Avon Rubber plc, examples: - UK TSB funded programme, looking at the ultra-high-pressure-water deconstruction of tyres and subsequent microwave pyrolysis of tyre crumb. - 3 year Korean government funded programme with Kumho Tyres Europe to develop a more readily biodegraded tyre tread formulation. Findings were presented at the tyre technology conference 2011. - Testing of oil and gas industry seals - to determine resistance to aggressive environments. Show less

My position was to act as a materials development, testing and technical support function for the Avon Rubber Automotive and Aerosol Sealing gasket business units. Examples of activity : - Development and industrialisation of an ECO oil breather hose formulation, designed to meet strict VW automotive specifications. - Development of ECD resistant EPDM coolant hose formula. - Development of butyl, polychloroprene and nitrile aerosol sealing gasket formula.
