Every Sunday, this Ashram cooks and serves delicious vegetarian meals for the homeless community at Franklin Park. I volunteer to serve and clean up every third and fifth Sunday and occasionally the second and fourth. I would encourage anyone who's interested to reach out as we always can use more help! Note: During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have paused the Franklin Park activities out of concern for the safety of our community. We hope to resume soon! The Eagle Endowment for Public & Community Service was recognized as the "Top College Philanthropic Organization in the USA" in 2017. We distribute grant funding and mentorship to students at American University who want to do community-oriented projects. Our goal is to help students "turn their ideas into action and action into service." I am responsible for coordinating the Advisory Council, programming fundraising events, implementing marketing strategies, managing the budget and handling day-to-day operations. • Manage a $105,000 grant-distributing endowment by supervising a 7-person advisory board in the funding and mentorship of 15 public service projects. • Increase income from $3,500 to $15,500 within 7 months to overcome an inherited budget deficit through building partnerships with corporate, non-profit, and individual sponsors. • Won a national grant competition resulting in $10,000 and the recognition of “top college philanthropy in the USA” through identification of mission-compatible opportunities and a well-crafted application. • Programmed donor engagement reunion that included 60 high profile University administrators and alumni and increased donation revenue by $3,400.
