I was privileged to work with Charles for 5 years. He was instrumental in helping to establish our business' footprint in Asia. Originally hired as a researcher, we quickly recognised that he had capabilities well beyond this scope and expanded his remit to take charge of our brand guardianship and editorial control over all of our content production. Charles' writing skills are exceptional and he is assiduous in his attention to detail. He takes great pride in his work, always striving for the best result. He is a tremendously committed and loyal colleague and a true team player, with fabulous coaching skills. He was enormously effective at sharing his knowledge and teaching colleagues - both junior and senior. He took initiative to drive projects and strategies forward in our business and showed great resilience in doing so. When confronted with an unknown subject matter, he would always read around the topic, with view to expanding and developing his knowledge. The positive impact that Charles had on our business will be long lasting. He embedded principles of best practice and laid the ground work for the effective positioning of our brand.

Walking the Talk is a world leader in enhancing organisational performance by making culture a tangible strategic asset. I joined the team full time after a couple of years of contracted work as a freelance qualitative analyst. In this role, I oversee the full culture assessment process. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, I apply our proprietary diagnostic methodology to generate cultural insights that help organisations and their people thrive. After relocating to Amsterdam from Hong Kong, I spent a couple of years freelancing, as part of a conscious decision to be more deliberate about how I spend my time and where I direct my energy. This was a valuable period of re-calibration for me, during which I placed a high priority on work-life balance, allowed myself the time and space for personal development, and worked only on projects that were fulfilling and aligned with my interests and values. Some of those projects included:CULTURE-FOCUSED QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS. I provided regular qualitative analysis services to an organisational culture consultancy. One aspect of their work is running focus groups with employees from client organisations to discuss workplace culture. I would analyse transcripts of these discussions in depth and provide written summaries detailing the ways in which culture operates within the organisation and how this impacts things like business objectives, bottom line and employee experience.WORKFLOW CONSULTATION. I provided a variety of services to a workflow consultant who helps people to manage their time, energy and focus more effectively by streamlining their engagement with tech devices. My input included generating and refining ideas, designing workshops, and writing and editing content.MANAGEMENT TRAINING. I helped a boutique management consultancy with the development and design of a range of e-learning modules geared towards helping managers enhance their leadership and people management skills.NON-PROFIT INITIATIVES. I did occasional content writing and editing for a couple of non-profit initiatives. One is a foundation whose mission it is to make English language learning fun, accessible and free to all, leveraging the combined power of technology and song lyrics. The other is an academy seeking to mobilise Dutch youth through sport and to grow the game of cricket in the Netherlands.

Taylor Bennett Heyman is a professional services firm that provides executive search, organisational design and market intelligence services to multinational organisations across Asia Pacific. The firm's second-ever employee, I was initially brought in to provide research support to the Managing Director, who had opened the office the previous year. However, working in such a lean start-up environment quickly afforded me the opportunity to make a diversity of contributions to the business, whether it was brand positioning or streamlining operational processes. In January 2016, my role was formally expanded to include brand guardianship, marketing communications strategy, and editorial control over all content production.

Taylor Bennett is the London-based parent company of Taylor Bennett Heyman. While completing my undergraduate degree, I did three paid internships with Taylor Bennett spanning a total of nine weeks. Through training and active participation in company assignments, I developed my skills as a researcher and gained specialised knowledge in the field of strategic communications. These internships led to me being offered a six-week internship with Taylor Bennett Heyman in Hong Kong - which overran by four years and 10-or-so months!

To finance my undergraduate studies, I worked at Heathrow full-time during my gap year and continued part-time following my enrolment at university. A role that came with a not-insignificant degree of responsibility for my age, I gained great exposure working in what was a high-pressure airport environment, where I was fortunate to encounter people of all walks of life from all over the globe on a daily basis.
