Data Acquisition Subteam Lead
-
Jul 2020 - Present
I coordinate a team of multidisciplinary engineering students in developing a data acquisition system that reports the Baja's vehicle dynamics, informing the design choices of other subteams. I presented the subteam's design ideas and contributed to our annual design review. I am leading the design of the system that integrates GPS, a tachometer and an inertial navigation unit to report the vehicles behaviour to the driver and pit crew. I also get to help team members with projects, providing guidance with new technologies.

I led groups of 120+ students through engineering labs, while implementing educational tools to reach students in a virtual environment. Over the past summer I developed labs involving python and Inventor, ensuring student learning and content coverage by consulting McMaster professors for insight. During the school year I have also managed version control of course documents for 1000+ students. I interpreted engineering drawings and wiring diagrams to assemble electrical control boxes used in the vulcanizing of conveyor belts. I applied my electrical and hardware knowledge to perform quality assurance tests including functional, high potential, and control tests to ensure boxes met requirements. I saved production time by implementing automatic wire cutting, stripping, crimping and labelling machines.
