As the Program Development Coordinator, I managed the development of a portfolio of programs collaboration with various CEA stakeholders. This position required utilizing a variety of skill sets and no two days looked the same. To be successful, I was expected to understand the study abroad market and CEA’s place within it. My primary responsibilities were: - Research and development of undergraduate study abroad programs in my portfolio, resulting in a go/no go recommendation for leadership evaluation. Programs in my portfolio included varying durations, from 4-weeks to semester-long programming, as well as a variety of academic disciplines and destinations.- Execution of program launches including personnel training, drafting website content, consulting on marketing campaign design for student and university audiences, and more.- Providing appropriate pricing recommendations to the Finance department - Evaluating to external curriculum and programming requests- Collecting, consolidating, and analyzing data to inform programming initiatives- Providing continued Salesforce platform training to the Program Development team- Developing and delivering a training program for all new product lines*This position was ultimately eliminated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.* Show less

To do this, I collected and reviewed student application materials, maintained regular communication with students and university advisors, and attended university study abroad fairs as needed. When advising students, I utilize appreciative advising techniques. My goal with each student is to facilitate a collaborative environment by asking positive, open-ended questions to help students articulate and ultimately succeed in their educational goals. My primary responsibility as a Peer Advisor was to advise students in selecting a study away program. Meeting with a Peer Advisor was the first step in the study abroad application and approval process. In these advising appointments, I advised students on requirements, application processes, how to effectively utilize Gustavus study away resources, and more. The Gustavus study away portfolio included both domestic and international options. In Fall 2015, I planned, coordinated, and facilitated, and oversaw the Gustavus Semester Study Abroad Fair. As a Writing Center Tutor, I provided individualized tutorials to students from a variety of academic disciplines. Additionally, I held workshops and coordinated outreach efforts to reach the greater Gustavus student population. In the Writing Center, we recognized and embraced that students come from a variety of backgrounds, including both linguistically and culturally, and this should be embraced to help students become effective writers. I provided support for every stage of the writing process-planning, drafting, revising, and editing-and created a safe space to help students navigate their writing.
