      I researched how the animal ovary recrudesces and functions during mating seasons through my project, “Ovarian angiogenic factor mRNA and protein are altered by the estrous cycle, photoperiod, and inhibition of matrix metalloproteinases in Siberian hamsters.” During my experience, I utilized a plethora of lab techniques, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, tissue embedding, injections, and primer design. My research allowed me to be awarded one of only twelve 2013 Doris A. Howell Foundation - CSUPERB Research Scholar Awards. Through this award, I was able to present at the 38th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference at Point Loma Nazarene University. Show less
