Rob was a conscientious and extremely knowledgeable colleague at FMS, someone we could rely on for technical expertise related to lighting design.

Jane L. Wechsler

During my time as office manager at FMRS Rob Guglielmetti was a valued colleague. His inventiveness and creativity were exemplary and inspirational. He is a talented, thoughtful and highly valuable team member. Undoubtedly, Rob's professional abilities have only increased with time. I would recommend him without reservation. Jane L. Wechsler

Added another leg of experience to my lighting-focused simulation career, working with the Product Marketing team of a startup to help sell cutting-edge architectural window technology. Improved simulation tools and workflows, performed new product evaluations, and developed simulation techniques to quantify performance and value for internal and external customers. Worked in NREL's Commercial Buildings Research Group, specifically on the OpenStudio software development project, and making LBL's Radiance more widely available to end users worldwide. My tenure at AEC (now part of NORESCO) marked a shift in the application of my lighting simulation, design, and analysis skills toward sustainability. Initially hired on as staff working with several other talented individuals in a small daylighting-focused group, I eventually took on the role of Group Leader, mentoring new staff, writing proposals, and managing workload. I am proud to say that I was the very first employee hired when celebrated lighting designer Richard Renfro decided to leave Fisher Marantz Renfro Stone and start his own LD firm. After nearly five years of collaboration with Richard at FMRS, I spent another six with him at Renfro Design Group, and still miss our daily interactions. While at RDG, I was responsible for all of the lighting simulation efforts in support of many (sometimes award-winning) projects. I also assisted on proposal… Show more I am proud to say that I was the very first employee hired when celebrated lighting designer Richard Renfro decided to leave Fisher Marantz Renfro Stone and start his own LD firm. Took one of the most significant architectural lighting design firms in the world to the modern era, singlehandedly taking the firm from paper plans and details to CAD. Migrated the lighting analysis protocol there from antiquated tools to modern visualization capability as well as broader simulation and analysis roles firm-wide. Also managed the entire server/lan/email/web presence. I worked in the lighting design office of what was formerly Hambrecht Terrell International/Space Design International, which then became part of FRCH. I helped the small team of lighting designers there move from paper to CAD, implemented CAD standards for lighting fixture details, lighting plans and electrical drawings, and brought computer-based lighting calculations to the firm. I was part of a great team of apprentices, ALD's and a hell of a Master Electrician. We worked for Craig Miller (RIP), for long hours and little pay. But it was an awesome experience. It was during this apprenticeship that this Jersey boy discovered the mountains of the USA and vowed to return. I was part of a great team of apprentices, ALD's and a hell of a Master Electrician.
