Dave Smith
Brian created the audience monetization business at Pandora. He took an idea and an amazing ability to address ads to listeners, added some very sophisticated 1st party data, then a bunch of 3rd party data and CRM data and created what is now a $500mm business. It wasn't easy. He had to pull together resources from all across the company, figure out how the pipes should work, design our custom DMP capabilities and oversee its building, and teach sales how to sell a data-enhanced media offering. Throughout, he killed it. Always with a healthy skepticism combined with an endearing smile and laugh. He built an amazing team and managed them through some challenging times.
