As a summer college transition advisor, I supported high school seniors of the San Jose area in their transition from high school to college. In the summer of 2020, I supported incoming freshman enrolling into the University of California, Berkeley. In the summer of 2021, I supported students in the San Jose area enrolling into a variety of universities in the fall. I worked collaboratively with other advisers to develop weekly webinars on topics such as: Imposter Syndrome, Self-Care, Acting as a New Adult, Managing Family Expectations, , Financial Literacy, Building and Creating Networks and Self Advocacy. These webinar topics were established through personal experiences we'd encountered when in undergrad. In addition to hosting webinars, I provided one on one support virtually and through other communication platforms such as Gmail, Google sites, and Zoom, to ensure the success of approximately 60 students. My ultimate goal was to provide students with enough information, support, guidance and mentorship to ensure a well informed transition from high school to college. Show less
