A mainly strategic role with some operational elements, including • Responsibility for generation of an Oxfordshire Skills Strategy and project management of the resulting OxLEP Skills Development Plan, (taking into account resources, budget, time and quality constraints), to support Oxfordshire Skills Board’s priorities. • Successfully bidding for funding to address local skills priorities, examples include the Enterprise Adviser Network contract with the Careers & Enterprise Company, European Social Funding, to enable delivery of a Skills for Business Programme and Oxfordshire City Deal’s Oxfordshire Apprenticeship bid. • Training and development of local Careers Leaders on Government policy, Gatsby Benchmarks, work experience, and other careers-related programmes. • Line management of the Skills Team. • Being the county expert/specialist for work experience and delivering an income generating, highly customer focused service to support work experience management in over 30 local schools. • Liaison with national and local stakeholders such as DFE, Careers & Enterprise Company, National Apprenticeship Service, local authorities, education providers at primary, secondary, FE and HE, employers of all sizes and across all sectors, and teachers, students and parents.
