Bio
As Chair of Psychology, Philosophy, and the Future at Rio Salado College I supervised Robert Brem for over ten years when he served as an adjunct faculty member in both future studies and psychology. Further, during this period and since, Robert has been a colleague and friend. I know Robert very well, having spent perhaps hundreds of hours with him discussing topics such as the future, philosophy, contemporary affairs, education, and psychology. Robert is a true scholar and teacher. He possesses an excellent mind and has great passion and enthusiasm for the world of ideas and education. He is a thinker, reads extensively, strives for continous improvement in his skills and his understanding of the world, and brings with him a high level of positive energy into his teaching and one-on-one conversations. His knowledge base is very broad, from the sciences to the humanities, and from the deep past and history into the far out future. He also possesses a very good understanding of human psychology, from a very practical and hands on perspective, having worked in the field of mental health. Hence, Robert is both book-smart and street-smart - a rare combination. Above all, Robert is dedicated. He truly loves his work - loves the world of ideas, the arena of education and teaching, the quest for knowledge and the improvement of the human condition. He lives his work and his passion. Tom Lombardo, Ph.D. Director of Center for Future Consciousness Chair - Psychology, Philosophy, & the Future (Retired) Rio Salado College
