I have worked with Hayashi-san organizing some small international meetings. I am impressed by his passion and also detailed knowledge of the whole STM publishing chain. It is true fun to work with him. His hobbies are also fascing, like Japanese sake conoisseur, keem "meat" eater and so on. Wow !

I've known Kasuhiro for almost 10 years, and worked with him closely since 2007. In that time I've found him keenly interested in the issues of the rapidly changing world of scholarly publishing at the international level. He has worked hard to bring publishing best-practices to the Chemical Society of Japan, and he has worked more broadly to educate Japanese publishers about best practices worldwide through many lectures in Japan. His input as a member of NII and SPARC Japan has been vital in the development of new platforms to host Japanese journals. I heartily recommend his work.
