Accelerative Integrated Methodology (AIM) brings true transformation to the experience of teaching and learning languages.Authentic learning is achieved through scaffolding techniques which use story-telling, gestures, active collaboration and repetition. The use of high-frequency vocabulary, introduced with gestures and contextualized in stories, drama, songs and dance, allows students to rapidly achieve levels of oral and written proficiency rarely seen with conventional methods.

    • Quiltfest Judging Assistant/Scribe
      • Aug 2019 - Aug 2019

For the duration of one whole day (11hrs), an amazing opportunity to work alongside the judges, assisting them in note-taking and writing of critiques for each of the contest entries (144 total quilt entries). Being present as judges evaluated each piece, learning of the criteria for mastering design and workmanship, and learning the terminology was eye-opening. Witnessing first hand the judging system, use of categories, ethics and awards was a wonderful experience. Seeing the quilts before the public opening of the show was also a treasure. It was fun to play a small role in the team and see a bit of behind the scenes of setting up the show (ie. quilt labels are hidden so contestants are anonymous during judging; how quilts are hung and winning quilts are moved to a special area, etc...). Talking with the judges outside of judging time (during breakfast and lunch) was a wonderful way to meet new people and hear of their upcoming endeavors and projects. Show less

      • Aug 2015 - Aug 2015

During a period of four days, I worked as a Judging Assistant/Scribe serving the judging team by being organised, taking notes, hand writing the judges' comments, filling in official certificates, and as Exhibition Hostess/White Glove Docent allowing the backs of quilts and other details to be viewed by visitors during the World Quilt New England QUILTFEST show. I've never been so fabulously absorbed in quilts before. Being scribe during the judging of the quilts was a wonderfully intense and overwhelming experience. A full 10 hour day of doing nothing but looking at quilts. Not just looking at them, but writing comments for each one after touching them, examining stitches, evaluating colour and composition, and comparing them. The other days as a white glove docent were equally fulfilling as I could share the backs of quilts and information about the quilter and handiwork with visitors. Show less
