  Undergraduate degree in bacteriology (microbiology), MSc in molecular biology of parasitic protozoa, PhD In biochemistry and Molecular biology of parasitic protozoa. Extensive laboratory experience in classical and OMIC ́s molecular techniques, DNA/RNA and proteins, in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. Founder and director of the first Colombian reference center for Genomic analysis (National Center for Genomic Sequencing-CNSG, University of Antioquia). Twenty years of experience as a researcher in molecular biology and 10 years of experience in NGS and bioinformatics applied to genomics, transcriptomics and metagenomics. More than 45 published research papers, most of them in internationally recognized journals.University professor with 20 years of experience in high level teaching in undergraduate programs and 12 years of experience in postgraduate teaching (MSc and PhD). Supervisor of three thesis Ph.D. thesis and three MSc degree works. Titular professor of public university in Colombia, maximum category according to Colombian regulations.
