During my time at the University of Washington I have developed 2 innovative and promising strategies to target pyrimidine pathway in Plasmodium falciparum as part of my Ph.D. research study; one strategy has successfully moved into animal testing. I was also invited to present my findings at numerous national conferences, including Molecular Parasitology Meeting and Keystone Symposium. I have published my results in The Journal of Biological Chemistry. I am interested in developing an undergraduate research program in organic chemistry at Seattle Pacific University and developing collaboration with the biology department to make the undergraduate research program in organic chemistry more effective.
