My job there, as part of the engineering team, was to develop from scratch a new banking core. That includes the development and design of microservices with restful APIs, libraries for connecting with new all short of fintech providers: document and identity verification, financial aggregation, and core banking.

  BBVA New Digital Business is the technological part of the bank in charge of its most innovative projects. My team’s job was to create a set of services and integrations, with multiple fintech providers and their APIs, that would later be used in the multiple ventures born inside BBVA.I was mainly involved in the integration of providers for Card Management, Credit Scoring, Know your Customer and Financial Aggregation. From the beginning all the developments were meant to scale on demand, so we built microservices using technologies such as NodeJS for Backend, Angular and Ionic for the mobile applications, MongoDB for the database and Mesos Marathon for the backend cluster. I took part in the process from the beginning, maintaining periodical communication with the external vendors and their technical teams.
