Managed an IBM System/36 running the Retail Interact package for three full-line department store locations in North Alabama with over 70 IBM cash registers.In 1994-95, served as project manager for acquiring a new business solution to replace aging hardware and outdated software. In 1995, managed the migration to a customized ERP package running on three IBM AS/400 midrange systems.Position evolved into IT director as more manual bookkeeping was moved to data entry and more investments in technology were made.Installed and managed PCs, printers, scanning equipment, credit card equipment, store signage system, and video security systems.Performed contract programming work after stores were sold in 1998 and position was dissolved. Wrote conversion programs to migrate data to new owner's custom retail system.Stores were consolidated and eventually closed by new owner over the next several years.
