  In my third act, I'm a children's librarian at GSL .As the director of library services at my school, I love what I do because of the constant contact with our students of all ages in an atmosphere that celebrates reading and family.My current skills focus on -● Nurturing a Love for Reading in Children, ● Getting to Know Who All Our 440+ Students Are,● Creating Engaging (and, I hope, Innovative) Library Lessons for our students,● Providing Electronic Resources Instruction for Lower & Middle School Students, ● Developing Online & Print Information Seeking and Research Skills in Our Students,● Deepening Our Library's Connections with Every Grade Level in Our School,● Sharing Reader's Advisory Recommendations with Students & Families,● Curating a Diverse Library Collection of +25,000 Items for Children and YA readers, ● Providing Bibliographic Instruction, ● Creating & Maintaining Digital Collections of Online Resources For Research Topics,● Coordinating the AR and STAR program for Students and Faculty,● Serving on the School's Service Learning, Language Arts, and DEI Committees,● Collaborating on the Creation & Expansion of Our Summer Reading Recommendations,● Marketing Our Collection and Space to Our Students & Families, ● Supervising Our Library Volunteers,● Managing Our Alexandria Automated Library System,● Stretching Library Budgets,● Broadening the Value of Our Library to Our Families,● Participating in Admissions Events,● Serving as an Ambassador for Our School, and ● Cataloging.
