Dr. James W. Brown

I worked closely with Chip during the "golden years" at Ocean County College when we received nearly half a million dollars from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to place our nursing program entirely online except for the clinicals and we developed 14 science courses with labs totally online. Chip was responsible for making OCC an East coast power-house for online course delivery. He is one of the nicest people you can ever work with and a "miracle worker," that can get things done and have them work properly. Chip made it all happen!!!

I write this recommendation for Chip based on my 17+ years working with him both at Monmouth University (where as faculty I worked closely with the IT Dept.) and at Sungard Higher Education, where I was able to observe Chip's management style first hand. In addition to his strong abilities to manage an efficient IT Dept.in order to realize the college's technology goals, Chip has unequivocally mastered the ability to bring a diverse team together to work cohesively as a strong, productive unit. Chip's personality is easy-going and sincere. He's well liked by those who he encounters. He has the incredible ability to help others feel at ease and in his management capcity, he has the remarkable skill to decipher what people excel at, what they would like to do (even when they do not know themselves,) then form a team based on that knowledge - the result? A team that not only enjoys coming to work in the morning but also a team who is willing to go the extra mile. To me, that speaks volumns about a team's leader. I strongly recommend Chip and feel he will be an asset to any organization. His contributions will help take them to the next level!
