In 2008 EB2 International was acquired by Sabre Airline Software Solutions, a leading Software as a Service portfolio provider. Retained as a Software Developer, I played an integral role in adapting the existing technology of the Internet Booking Engine to new requirements as a new product. In addition I supported existing customers and legacy systems. Based in a team geographically dispersed throughout the world, I worked with developers, architects, testers, business analysts and managers to define, implement and improve delivery processes. Integral to this was my commitment to employ a strong software quality focus, delivering excellent code and automated tests. My responsibilities included developing, coding, testing and debugging complex software solutions and enhancements, working closely with front- and back-end teams. In addition I liaised with Quality Assurance testers on defect resolution and system testing. Most notably I managed code compatibility concerns between new and legacy systems, and drove continuous improvement in system architecture through refactoring legacy code. In addition I implemented new APIs, providing new functionality to front-end web applications. I also developed a web tool used internally for managing database-centric configuration.

Jan 2007 - Dec 2008
Employed within an architecture-centric team, I supported a large-scale, Java enterprise-based Internet Booking Engine. Employing Agile development methodologies I supported all stages of software development, from specification to design, testing, debugging and maintenance. Driving the development of new features, I analysed defined user requirements and envisioned system features and functionality. I also maintained existing back-end software and led third party integration, including addressing issues and barriers. In addition I successfully incorporated code into an aged non-conforming service, achieving functionality. Providing input into performance improvement, I made recommendations for system solutions, detailing advantages and disadvantages. This required me to remain abreast of new emerging technologies with potential usefulness in the development of current and new applications. Most notably I ensured software quality by taking ownership for defining a structure and establishing a consistent framework for enhancements and unit testing. In addition I developed a revised version of the existing statistic gathering process for web usage, improving result quality. When EB2 International was acquired by Sabre Airline Software Solutions, I was retained as Software Developer based on my robust technical skills and knowledge of EB2 International systems.
