Designed & implemented a software wrapper library for BNFL that was used to access 2 digital imaging devices to enable their own software to easily interface with the devices to gain X-Ray images of fuel rods to enable inspection of those fuel rods to pass quality control. The project required conforming to the design and coding standards of BNFL, and was written in C# using .Net 2.0 Successful CAT (Client Acceptance Testing) of the software wrapper by BNFL. Implemented a number of new sub-systems for a new industrial inspection product they were developing. These sub-systems were Windows Applications and Services written in C# using .Net 2.0. Implemented a new sub system to their main web based application called Assimilate, the system was written in ASP.NET and C# using .Net 1.1. This sub system was written so that the application could import, render and store results from any QTI 1.2 question package. This work needed to be completed within a truncated timetable to ensure that the application would pass BECTA testing and ensure that the Assimilate application would be put on the BECTA approved list of LMS products. Implemented the Member’s section of the new version of the www.EmpireDirect.co.uk website. This entailed the management of the members details Address details & credit card details which include encrypting credit card details to ensure that those details were stored safely Implemented an interface to the Amazon on-line order services. This interface retrieved the order details that Amazon had taken on behalf of empire direct and feed it into the internal empire direct order system. Thus removing the need for the manual input of orders. Implemented a real-time statistics dashboard that shows the daily activity on the empire direct website. The usage data was pulled from the web statistics company using their web interface to feed into the dashboard. The dashboard plotted the current day’s usage against usage information from the day before, the week before and the last month.
