I was very proud to be accepted into McKinsey's 2013 Leadership Academy. In the summer of Year 12, I attended a two day residential where I worked with McKinsey&Co. and Future Foundations to develop my leadership and practical work skills. This residential gave me the opportunity to learn and practise the advanced problem solving techniques and methods used by McKinsey&Co Management Consultants. I then worked on a planned project over the course of the following year. At the Graduate Leadership Academy in the summer of Year 13, I was able to present back to the cohort on my successes, and to learn about what my peers had achieved over the year. I found this experience extremely motivating; it gave me confidence in my ability to lead teams dynamically whilst achieving great results. Show less

    • Waiter and Front of House

I worked as a waiter at a local restaurant while at school. It was a part-time job that taught me how to be flexible and how to make decisions quickly in consumer facing environments. It gave me exposure to the service industry as I was able to enjoy learning about how the restaurant was run. I took pride in this work and it gave me great customer satisfaction, but I decided to stop so that I could focus on my A-level exam studies.
