Helped create and implement the curriculum for the University at Buffalo Summer Math Program. This program was offered to girls grades 4-9 throughout the Buffalo area. The UBSMP was administered at 3 different charter schools in the City of Buffalo: Enterprise Charter School, Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School, and Westminster Community Charter School. The one week program at each school focused on instruction about fractions and fraction operations. Students were given new perspectives when it comes to fractions and were given the opportunity for project based learning and a presentation of ideas. Presented our findings as well as one of my original activities at a PD conference in January. Show less

For about 150 hours, I went to Dodge Elementary to work in a 2nd grade classroom. I shadowed the teacher, conducted lessons, tested children, made sure children were on task, and basically helped with anything else the teacher needed. This was a fantastic experience that gave me direct experience in the field that I plan to pursue in the future. For about 150 hours, I went to Dodge Elementary to work in a 2nd grade classroom.
