The Montreal Propel Impact Fund (MPIF) is Quebec’s first student-led impact investing group. MPIF uses an impact-first approach to invest in local social enterprises, enterprising non-profits, and cooperatives that tackle social and environmental issues for the Montreal community. We operate as a real fund, responsible for all aspects of the investing process including dealsourcing, fundraising, investor relations, due diligence, community relations, and marketing. I was an apprentice with Professor Lisa Cohen to help conduct research whilst implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives at Desautels. I also worked with other fellows on an impact initiative, where we designed and implement a real-world sustainability project. Our project, focused on improving bike safety in Montreal through the use of technology and vending machines, was approved for funding at the end of the fellowship from McGill. Understood the logistics of prepositioning, building inventory and trading out of risk positions. Used key technical indicators to successfully intraday trade the June FOMC meeting and DoE announcements.
